Well, I think it's safe to say that the fun is over. I have been very lucky these past 9 months...I have had a very easy pregnancy thus far. No morning sickness, no nausea, my "girls" did not hurt in the first tri-mester, I did not have any unusual cravings...all was great! Until I reached week 35. Minus the braxton hicks that started at week 28, I now have some very painful lower pressure, I have shooting pains across my whole belly and down below, I have the dreaded hemorrhoids. I'm not gonna sugar coat this for you, I am in some pain. If I am on my feet too long, my cankles swell and double in size. The other night, I had to wake up Joe, because the shooting pains were so bad I couldn't get out of bed to pee. So he had to hoist me up, and roll me out of bed. I think him hearing me grunt and breathe heavily is now normal to him. =) I can honestly say, I am ready to meet Baby Joseph! The pains hurt in my belly, and the pressure hurts, so I kind of walk with a limp, so it basically looks like I'm waddling from place to place. I am now accepting the fact, that I do in fact, waddle. But with less than 32 days until the big day, I will have to wait it out, and try to make myself as comfortable as possible.
I do, however, have Joseph's bag packed, his carseat is now ready, and I am slowly but surely packing my bag. I asked my friend, Margaret, if she would carry the baby for me until he was born, but seeing as she has a 4 1/2 month old little girl, she is kind of busy.
This weekend we are celebrating Gregory's 2nd birthday at Chucky Cheese, and I am looking forward to watching him run around like a mad man and eat pizza! Joe is looking forward to being a kid again. Other than that, I don't have any updated pics just yet. I promise I will take some more soon. Or you could google whale, and see a picture of me. =)
Until next time, lots of love from Baby Joseph and I!

DUE DATE!
Hmm, where should I start…?
Well, this past Monday I woke up feeling some lower pressure. As the morning went on, it got worse, I started to feel some back pain as well, a little cramping and some sharp pains every now and then. So I decided to work from home, and call my doctor. The nurse asked if I could stay off my feet, since the back pain had subsided. I told her yes and she said to stay hydrated and that my doctor would be calling me back first thing in the morning.
As I was laying there trying to rest, I started thinking…we are no where near ready for baby Joseph’s arrival! So what do I do instead of resting? I get up and wash all his clothes, pack a bag for him, I unload the dishwasher and load it, because who wants to come home from the hospital with a sink full of dirty dishes? Not me! My friend, Margaret, begged me to pack my bag as well. So this weekend, I am heading out to buy some nursing bra’s and nursing tank tops, and some good ole’ granny panties. Joe and I are also going out to buy (with the help of my parents) our stroller. Why would we buy our stroller, it’s not that big of a deal to buy right now, right? Well, when the car seat comes with the stroller it turns in to a MUST HAVE! After we get all that bought and out of the way, I think I will then be able to rest better knowing we WILL BE READY for the baby’s arrival should he come sooner than later.
That next morning, the doctor called me, and asked to see me that morning in lieu of my original Thursday appointment. Once I get there, she does a cotton swab test to test the lining of my cervix and checked my cervix. All seemed well…and closed! I asked her if she could tell how much the baby might weigh now. She started moving my belly around, and goes, “Well, he is transverse. That gives me enough reason to do a sono; I want to make sure he is okay in there.” Transverse means he is lying horizontally in my belly, instead of head down, which could be the reason I was experiencing the symptoms I was having. So off to the sono tech I went…and everything looked great! I couldn’t see Joseph’s face, his hands and feet were covering his face. But I did get to see his cute, little tiny toes in my ribs! And he is showing that he is weighing in at 5.5lbs already! Holy cow, that’s a big baby! And I am measuring a week and 3 days early. Yikes! But all in all, everything is still good…blood pressure is good, weight is good, and urine was good.
Now, let’s get to my due date. It gets kind of complicated, so I will try and explain well. When I first became pregnant, the sonographer did a sonogram and measured the baby and said my due date was March 27th. My doctor used one of those wheely things, and went by my last period and said my due date was April 2nd. Ummm, that’s a 6 day difference. So I chose a date in the middle, my due date would be March 30th. =) Now, what have I been measuring my weeks by? The sonographer’s date. So from her date, as of yesterday, I was measuring at 34 weeks. So technically I am only measuring ahead by 3 days. Now my doctor’s date, she has me measuring (as of yesterday) at 33 weeks and 2 days, which means by the sonogram I am measuring ahead by 1 week and 3 days. I think I will take my original date of March 27th; it seems to be more accurate. And I really don’t want to be measuring ahead that much with a 5.5lb baby at 33 weeks! Yikes!
So I think that’s it for now. We finally got our 2nd living area aka the playroom all set up. And other than feeling those symptoms on Monday, I seem to be feeling better. My next appointment is set for March 1. And I have my work baby shower this Friday, which I am super excited about!!!!
I will post more pics soon! =) Happy Wednesday!

Time is a flyin'!
Time is a flyin’!
So last Thursday I had my 32 week appointment, and all went well. Baby’s heartbeat was beating at 137bpm. Blood pressure was good, urine check was good, and weight was good. I gained two pounds in 2 weeks, which is right on track! As of today, sitting at 33 weeks and 3 days, I have now gained a total of 23lbs. The doctor was a little concerned with the amount of Braxton Hicks contractions I have been having. She asked if I was able to take ½ days from work. Definitely not capable of doing that right now, unless I had a note from her. She said she would give me to my next appointment to see how my BH are doing, and would go from there. Depending on that outcome, she would then check my cervix to make sure everything is still closed. I have been hydrating more during the day, emptying my bladder as recommended, and trying to rest at home.
On February 4, Joe and I had our 2nd Baby Shower! It was hosted my Joe’s, Aunt Janel and his mom, Debi. It was great! We got some great things, and again we feel as if we are blessed with such great friends and family. That evening Joe’s family and us went to eat at Babe’s Chicken. YUM!! And as you know, when you eat at Babe’s Chicken, you eat A LOT! So of course, we stuffed our self’s silly! When we got home, I told Joe, we don’t have to unpack all the gifts, but I really want to put the Pack N Play out. He complained and griped, saying how full he was. So what do I do? I put the Pack N Play together MYSELF! And I did a pretty good job if you ask me! I was just too excited to wait, and since I already deal with carrying 23 extra pounds in my belly, eating at Babe’s was a walk in the park! The next day we did put everything out and together. So the baby’s room is almost complete. I will take pics of the updated nursery this weekend for all to see. It’s pretty cute! Wait—we are having a boy, it’s a very handsome room!

We are blessed!
So this weekend can be summed up in one word...blessed! Alot of people use the saying, "I am blessed." This weekend, I came to find out that my family and close family friends truly have blessed Joe and I. We were given alot of great gifts, and I know that Baby Joseph is already one lucky little boy! On Saturday, my mom, Bettina Lang and Nancy Killough hosted a baby shower for me. These three ladies have seen me grow up, get married, and are finally going to see me have a baby! There was yummy food to snack on, a couple of fun games, and lots of presents to be opened! After the shower, I was exhausted! But I was so excited to put away our gifts and set everything out...so I cleaned and put everything away! This weekend can only be explained by pictures, of course, the other shower pictures are on my mom's camera. But I have a couple from the shower, a picture of Joseph's nursery--not yet completed, and finally the long awaited maternity pictures!!! I hope you enjoy them as much as me!

Getting close...
So as of today, I am 31 weeks and one day. That only leaves us with 8 weeks and 6 days left! Less than 9 weeks until Baby Joseph is here! I can't wait to see those little toes that have been jabbing me under my boob. =) I feel like I may have an outside bruise due to his crazy dance routines! But it's still one of the coolest feelings ever! His kicks are starting to feel like real movements. Instead of a jab here or there, I feel his whole body slowly shift and change positions...so cool! Something that I will definitely miss once he's here!
This past Saturday, Joe and I had our Child Prep class at Baylor Dallas. It's crazy what all you learn from your girlfriends having babies, what you read in books, and what your doctor tells you. So with all that already in our head, we actually knew quite a bit of the information. But we did still learn alot! There were some couples there that knew NOTHING! And are definitely in for some shocking stuff. We had one d-bag in the back making stupid know-it-all comments...and when they told us they were going to show us the birthing video, one girl asked, "Umm, it's not gonna like show us the whole thing, right?" Ummm yes! That is what a birthing video is! We also got a tour of the hospital, which was great to see! All in all, it was a good experience and I'm glad I was able to share it with Joe.
That following Sunday, we had our maternity pictures taken! Let's just say, I HATE my profile, and I feel as though I look like a whale! But they did turn out nice, and I am excited to see them in print. It was fun to take the pictures because that is our first official family photo with baby Joseph! I will post pics of them soon for all to see! A friend of mine, Lorelei, who is awesome at photos, is going to edit out the line on my belly, and take the gray out of my hair! She is awesome! And I can't wait to see them with those edits!
Another great friend, Kristin, is letting us borrow her bassinet. We are placing it downstairs so we will have one close by so we don't have to keep going up and down the stairs. We placed it in our living room on Monday, and it's very cool to see it while we are watching tv. Soon, a real baby will be inside!!! My friends, Kristin and Margaret have both given Joe and I so much stuff...they are spoiling us. It seems like everytime I go over there, I leave with some onesies, diapers, formula, etc. Joe gets excited when I come back from their places to see what new items we have received! They have been great!
I have my first shower on Saturday, and I am sooooo excited! I may not be able to sleep the night before. But knowing me, I will pass out by 10pm. =)
I will update maternity pics this week with an update on our first baby shower! Until then...I'm off to pee..again. ;o)

Swelling, and grunts, and aches...Oh My!
Hello all!
Well today I am officially 30 weeks and 3 days pregnant! I had my 30 week check up today, and all looks well! I met with another doctor on the team, in case my doctor can't deliver me. He was very nice, and his team of nurses are just as sweet. Baby Joseph's heartbeat was 145 bpm, I was measuring right at 30 weeks, and my blood pressure was good. As for weight--I have been very cautious on what I am eating, and adding more fiber to my diet. From my doctor's scale, I lost half a pound. But losing that half a pound has equaled out to my scale now. My scale says I have gained 1 1/2 pounds. So all in all, at 30 weeks, I have gained 19lbs. Oh and yes, I treated myself to McDonald's and a cupcake. But stomach is hating me for it now! Sure was tasty though, and so worth it!
As for how I'm feeling, I'm still pretty good! Still have swollen cankles, and Braxton Hicks periodically throughout the day...just a little uncomfortable, but no pain...yet. I am also still able to sleep pretty well. I do have to get up during the night to pee, and that's where the grunts begin. Joe has also been having to help me get up from the couch, it's just not as easy when you have 19 extra pounds of weight in your midsection. And it's not like it's squishy, it's a hard ball that will not budge!
Joe and I are also getting our house in order. We have the crib up...and are currently working on getting our 2nd living area organized and turning it into a sitting area/playroom. I can't wait until it's all done! I have my first shower also, on January 28th, and am soooooo excited! This weekend, we have our Child Prep class at Baylor, and then our maternity pictures on Sunday. It's a fun filled baby weekend! Our 2nd shower will be on February 4th, and I am also looking forward to that as well! I can't wait!
Until my next post, here are my scary, big, belly pics at 30 Weeks and 3 days. Enjoy!

New Year...New symptoms!
Happy New Year to all my friends and family!!! I hope everyone had a great Christmas and New Year's. Our's was filled with lots of family, food, and sickness. On Thursday, December 22 we celebrated with just my parents, Andrew and Monica, and Gregory! Joe and I had fun shopping for Gregory's Christmas gift...we found him a basketball goal that adjusts to his height. He will be a pro before you know it! Saturday was Christmas Eve and we went over to my parents holiday party. I'm gonna say there were at least 40+ people there. It was a tight squeeze, but it was cozy, the food was good, and we had alot of fun! Christmas Day was spent with Joe's parents and Lindsey. I got Joe some 3D glasses for our TV, and some new Adidas shoes. He got me a Sony Touch bloggie!! Which was exactly what I wanted! It's a mini-video camera that I wanted before the baby arrives. It's so cool, and I love it! That evening we went over to my Aunt Angie's house for dinner, and hung out with our cousins. The next day, the 26th, we headed over to Joe's Aunt Janel and Uncle Greg's house for brunch. And finally after that, we headed home to rest before work the next day. Whew! It was a long weekend!
The day after Christmas, I got sick. Everyone around me had been sick, so it was inevitable that I would be next. I had all the good stuff...stuffy nose, runny nose, coughing, and sneezing. And as you know, there isn't a whole lot you can take while pregnant. But I made it through and am feeling much better! Not long after me, Joe got sick. Same thing as me, but he is feeling much better too! For our New Year's Eve, Joe was still very sick, but we still headed to dinner at Pappadeaux. My brother had to work, and we wanted to be with him for part of the evening. My parents and G joined us, and had a great time! Andrew is a great waiter and knowing the GM is even better when you get your bill! ;o) After, Joe and I came home and rung in the New Year with just us two and half! It was very nice, and felt awesome to wake up the next morning without a hangover!
On January 5, I had my 7 month doctor's appointment. As the nurse was checking the heartbeat, she realized I was having a Braxton Hicks contraction. I couldn't really feel it, but she said it was normal to start feeling those around the 3rd trimester. She asked if I had felt any "tightening of the belly"...I told her sometimes I feel it after I eat, but I just thought I was full. Turns out I wasn't that full, it was a Braxton Hicks contraction. Anyways, Baby Joseph's heartbeat was good, ranging in the mid 140's bpm. My blood pressure was good. My gestational diabetes test came back negative, which is very good! I, however, have gained 6.5 lbs. Typically, you are supposed to gain a pound a week. So my doctor suggested I kind of watch my carb and sugar intake. So what do I do for dinner? I ate a big plate of spaghetti and loved every bite! Total to date, I have gained 18.5 lbs from what my at-home scale tells me. Which I think is still good, I will just have to make sure from here on out to not over do it with the spaghetti. =) She was also able to tell me that he was head down so that may be a reason as to why I feel so much pressure in my lower abdomen. Thanks Joseph! I love having your head down in my lower bag...I mean vag. (inside joke ;o)) My doctor gave me some recommendations for pediatricians, which we will start interviewing soon. We already pre-registered for the hospital. Joe and I also signed up for our Child Preparation class. So that will happen in a couple of weeks! I'm actually kind of excited about it, it's only one day, from 9-5pm and we get a tour of the hospital.
As for how I am feeling. I was feeling great! One day last week, I literally hurt being pregnant. My lower belly area had so much pressure! It hurt to walk! But I talked to my trusty girlfriends, who made me feel alot better. I came home, took a "warm" bath, took some Tylenol and felt so much better in the morning. The doctor said it was just my ligaments stretching. Fun! Today, I started to really feel the Braxton Hicks and my cankles, I mean ankles, are crazy swollen! Like, I'm talking, CRAZY swollen! It looks like I sprained both ankles. I am taking it easy tonight to see if it goes away by tomorrow morning.
Next appointment is January 20th! Yep, I am going every two weeks now! Eeeeek! Until then, I leave my belly pics...one covered and one bare belly! Enjoy!
